Hi everyone

It is a new month and been a very busy time for my staff and myself.

I have been to Wadalba, NSW for Danny and Sharon’s baby’s dedication and first birthday and from there to Rockhampton for the Grandparents Day. I spent a few days in the Solomon’s working and I feel very thankful and privileged that I live in Brisbane. We take for granted running water and electricity. A typical house is a thatched cottage with multiple families living in it.

This was a bucket from a front end loader or grader out on the side of the road and the owner of the bore had turned on the water so everyone from around the area comes and does their laundry and bathes under the running hose water. Usually in this particular instance the bore water isn’t turned on until about seven pm and turned off at about eleven pm. They bathe with their clothes on. I also appreciate that I earn a little more than $4.00 per hour (equal to fifty six cents our money). I do believe that their wages will go to $6 per hour (their money) any day.

Babylock will be releasing 3 new items this month. For us this is always very interesting and exciting. One of the releases is a machine with technology that is exclusive to them. Michelle from Babylock will be in our Wynnum Store on the 25th August and in our Burleigh Waters Store on the 31st August. Michelle will be demonstrating the new Babylock additions. You won’t want to miss this so book early.

We are proud dealers of Handi Quilter – the latest in long arm quilting and quilting frames.  The HQ Sixteen is a wonderful straight stitch machine that can handle a large variety of threads and comes with its own wide table and has 16" of throat area.  The HQ Eighteen (yes 18" of throat area) goes beautifully on a HQ Quilting frame and may be fitted with Qbot.

Anita has just completed a Lace Table Runner with our girls and there have been wonderful results.  Coming up is a Lace Doily class which is designed to teach you how to add lace to any fabric of your choice and get a professional finish. This is a computer and machine lesson.
